Cancer Season 2021 Tarotscopes

Cancer Season 2021 Tarotscopes are here, with a tarot card for each zodiac sign highlighting what your self-care and growth opportunities are from June 20 – July 22, 2021. Read for your Sun, Moon, and Rising signs for the full picture.

Cancer Season is the time to dive into the waves of our feelings and intuition, to float and observe before taking action. This Cardinal (initiatory) Water sign is ruled by the moon, represented by the crab, and associated with The Chariot in Tarot. While Cancer can get a reputation for being moody, introverted to the extreme, or steeped in mommy issues, it’s so much more expansive and powerful than all of that.

Do all the zodiac signs have their shadowy low-vibe bits? Hell yeah. But that shadow also encompasses their gold and natural superpowers.

What gold can Cancer Season help us all (regardless of your zodiac signs) tap into?

  • Our capacity for nourishing and nurturing both ourselves and others — and the unique ways in which we do it.
  • Our motivation to take intuitive and aligned action.
  • Our ability to honor our inner world.
  • Our potential to create with and adapt to the flow of the season.
  • Our powers of empathy.
  • Our connection to the moon.

Cancer Season 2021 Tarotscope

What’s a Tarotscope?

It’s like a horoscope, but instead of interpreting planetary movements, I pull a card for each zodiac sign and share the themes and questions coming up at this time.

You can read the cards for your Sun, Rising, and Moon signs for a 3-card spread. If you don’t know your Sun (that’s the sign you’d typically read your horoscope for), Moon, and Rising/Ascendant signs, get your birth time and city, if possible, and plug it in over here.

In case you missed it, you can check out your Gemini Season Tarotscope here. Or book an in-depth tarot reading or breathwork session with me.

Here are your cards for Cancer Season:

Aries – 4 of Wands

Cancer Season Tarotscope for Aries

Peace, joy, and satisfaction aren’t just things that you experience at the finish line. In fact, if you spend too much time focused on getting to the end to enjoy yourself, you miss a lot along the way. This is a call to take time out and make space for these things every day. Make sure you’re balancing the work, action and motivation with the celebratory and enjoyable. Redefine the way you celebrate yourself and express your joy — it doesn’t always have to look like a party, but should fill you up. Think time outside, doing things you love, good meals, and gathering for quality time with soul family. This will be the fuel to get you where you want to go.

Taurus – 3 of Pentacles

Cancer Season Tarotscope for Taurus

Stepping into purposeful work that you feel ready and well suited for. It’s time to share your unique gifts in the way only you can. If purpose and your gifts are elusive to you right now, focus on what feels good when you’re doing it. What do you do well naturally? This can be an opportunity to find others to collaborate or join forces with. There’s a mutual appreciation available that’s supportive and sustainable — not competitive. There’s room for everyone’s talents here. There’s also a call to find balance within — body, mind, and soul — to shape your experience in a positive direction.

Gemini – Queen of Swords

Cancer Season Tarotscope for Gemini

You are the Editor-in-Chief of your life. It’s time to cut through the bullshit to find clarity and embody your essential boundaries. This Queen does not play. They’re showing up for you to get a clear view of what you know to be true and what’s right for you. Rather than get caught up in old stories (aka the B.S.), braiding together your intellect and intuition will help you make the right calls. This Queen holds the wisdom of your experience but remains open to new opportunities and change. Call on this Queen’s discernment when you need a new perspective.

Cancer – The Devil

Cancer Season Tarotscope for Cancer

Big cycle-breaking energy. This (happy bday!) season is an opportunity to face the negative patterns you’ve been engaging in — thought patterns, old stories, shame spirals, self-destructive behaviors, etc. — and bring them to the light. Sunshine is the best bleach, so any time you can gain awareness and give your shadows a little warmth, you create an opportunity to change. Don’t get me wrong, this process isn’t easy, but it’s absolutely worthwhile. We create change by making new choices. The Devil is about taking off the chains of your autopilot responses and reactions and deciding to do it differently, moment by moment. On the other side of those new choices is a new level of freedom and liberation.

Leo – 3 of Wands

Cancer Season Tarotscope for Leo

You’re in a transitional space right now — between what you’ve already accomplished and your next big adventure. This is a time for reviewing where you’ve been and visioning for the future. This card reminds us that our motivation, passion, and actions are much more gratifying when we can stay present, get grounded in our environment, and connect to our depths and sense of personal fulfillment. Doing for doing’s sake is out, now is the time to really consider what you want the future to look like and THEN act in accordance with it. But for right now, allow yourself to be here in this in-between, and trust that the next right thing is on the horizon.

Virgo – King of Swords Rx*

Cancer Season Tarotscope for Virgo

Does your expression feel stifled in any way right now? Rather than focus on what you “need” or “should” do outwardly, this is a call to focus inward on the places where you discredit and invalidate yourself, or shut down ideas. Instead, make room for curiosity and openness, and recommit to yourself. Make a space for thoughts and ideas to flow freely — try journaling for 10 minutes a day or making a voice recording of your stream of consciousness — to open up more, even if it’s just to yourself. Then put your truth into practice out in the world.

Libra – The Chariot

Cancer Season Tarotscope for Libra

A transition point, not unlike graduation energy — there’s optimism, a sense of accomplishment, and the promise of future success in the air. But the real question is: Where do you want to go in this next phase of life? The way to get there often requires us to shed some of the protections we’ve surrounded ourselves with. Associated with Cancer, this Major Arcana card is about learning to ride the waves of change by trusting your gut and letting go of the things that look good but aren’t in alignment with who you want to be going forward. Shedding your crab shell (again, Cancer) isn’t always easy, but it’s instinctual and often happens naturally. Your intuition knows (you know) what needs to shift, take some time to mull that over this season.

Scorpio – 6 of Pentacles

Cancer Season Tarotscope for Scorpio

Life will give you what you’re open to receiving. What do you want to receive? What do you not feel worthy of? This card is about much more than generosity, although it’s a part of it. The energetic cycle of action and repose and finding a balance between giving and receiving in your life is coming up in a big way. Note where you feel like you need to keep giving or producing in order to feel worthy of anything (rest, happiness, reward) AND where you feel like you’re holding back from sharing. Assess where you’re spending your energy right now and if it feels balanced. Often we can find the gateways to receiving in small, everyday rituals.

Sagittarius – 8 of Pentacles Rx*

Cancer Season Tarotscope for Sagittarius

Trust your timing. Keep showing up. There’s no rushing to the finish line here. Rather than trying to skip steps on your way to mastery, is there a way to show up each day with a sense of dedication and curiosity that helps you find your flow? Working toward something need not be a slog or a rigid pursuit, you can find enjoyment and alignment when you find a sense of ease in it. This doesn’t need to apply to an actual job either, this could mean work you’re doing within your family, learning a new skill, healing, or a spiritual practice — anything that requires consistent action and devotion.

Capricorn – 10 of Swords

Cancer Season Tarotscope for Capricorn

It’s the end of a cycle (which always means the beginning of a new one) — especially in the way you think and communicate. You’ve come to the end of the road in the way you’ve been doing things. You’ve exhausted this line of thought, of this pattern of pain and self-betrayal. Don’t give up, redirect instead. Notice the black sky lifting and a yellow dawn breaking in the background. The pain of the past is behind you, you don’t need to hang onto this mental suffering anymore. What transformation are you stepping into? Tie up loose ends and do it a new way.

Aquarius – The Lovers

Cancer Season Tarotscope for Aquarius

Breathe in. Breathe out. Consider how your breath is connected with so many other things in your environment. This is the work of the Lovers — finding our sense of interconnectedness and seeing the external as a mirror for getting to know ourselves. Rather than give your power and essence away to external validation and superficial markers of success (i.e. the job title, the engagement, the money in the account) can you find yourself — and your power — in the ways you show up, interact with others, and receive the outside world? The Lovers is so much more than romantic relationships, it’s about the way we deeply connect with another (be it a person, place, or thing). What do you feel connected to? What does that help you know about yourself?

Pisces – The World Rx*

Cancer Season Tarotscope for Pisces

Saturn Return vibes anyone? The World is associated with Saturn and when I see it reversed, I can’t help but think of the challenges of this transit. Internalizing lessons that have been hard-won is an essential part of the growth and maturation that Saturn oversees. In the reversal, we’re asked to consider which lessons we might still be dancing around. What patterns are still repeating? What needs to play out in a new way before we can feel like the cycle has completed? Don’t shy away from being who you are and embracing all sides of you. This is an integration point that requires you to embody your humanity to its fullness.

*If you’re wondering what Rx means: Rx means reversal (or an upside down card). I love reversed cards because they bring a different flavor to the card meaning. I read them as something to dive deeper with, a more internal facing energy — kind of like a retrograde planet. The nuanced meanings are reflected in my interpretations/write ups about the card. You can read more about reading reversals the Rx way in my Guide to Major Arcana Meanings.
