Leo Season Tarotscopes

Leo Season Tarotscopes are here, with a tarot card for each zodiac sign highlighting what your self-care and growth opportunities are from July 22-August 22, 2020. Read for your Sun, Moon, and Rising signs for the full picture.

Leo Season is a time for self expression, warmth, heart-centered action, connection, embodying joy, building others up, and letting yourself be seen.

What’s a Tarotscope?

It’s like a horoscope, but instead of interpreting planetary movements, I pull a card for each zodiac sign and share the themes and questions coming up at this time. I read tarot with an emphasis on self-care and self-development, so I suggest practices or activities that I think might be beneficial to you based on the card.

You can read about the cards for your Sun, Rising, and Moon signs — in fact, I recommend it. If you don’t know your Sun (that’s the sign you’d typically read your horoscope for), Moon, and/or Rising/Ascendant signs, get your birth time and city, if possible, and plug it in over here.

Here are your cards for Leo Season:

Aries: 7 of Wands

Leo Season Tarotscopes Aries

There is enough to go around for everyone. It’s safe to lower your defenses. You don’t have to be on guard all the time and you don’t have to worry that something will be taken away from you. That’s the kind of capitalist patriarchal bullsh*t that got us to this place where we can’t relax, where we have to be productive in order to feel worthy, where we are so busy running around trying to hold on to what we have and get more that we don’t really know ourselves. Take a breath. Or several. Care-take your nervous system. Ground yourself with nature and the color green and let yourself feel supported by the Earth. I’m not in the business of doling out mantra, but it might be helpful to repeat to yourself: I am secure.

Taurus: 3 of Swords

Leo Season Tarotscopes Taurus

Oof. The 3 of Swords stings. But this is about working with our triggers instead of against them. A lot of the stuff that upsets us and causes us difficulty is a reliving or revisiting of past pain. It’s like the Buddist parable that asks, “If you get struck by an arrow, do you then shoot another arrow into yourself?” Pain in life is inevitable, but you get to decide what you do with it. Will you blame others or yourself? Or can you look at that initial wound with love and give it space to heal? Become a student of your triggers to get to their root. A lot of what makes us reactionary (instead of responsive) is the stuff we refuse to give attention to, so get interested when you feel angry, overwhelmed, sad, upset, or want to run. It doesn’t have to be scary or hurtful, when you treat it with curiosity it can be where the healing begins. Be gentle with yourself and remember you are pure love at your core.

Gemini: 5 of Pentacles

Leo Season Tarotscopes Gemini

Release the tension from your body. Have things felt tight, constricted, difficult?  Relief is in sight. How have you been dealing with feelings of fear and lack of support? What’s worked and what hasn’t? This card in it’s reversal can be a harbinger of relief, but encourages you to have a toolkit of things you can do to move this insecure energy through your body and process it — for the next time these feelings arise. Because they will arise again. Doing things with our hands and bodies can be especially helpful — cook or bake something, get crafty, clean out a drawer or closet, garden, walk, hike, swim, jump, dance, try body scan meditation. Take note of what works for you. You’ve got this.

Cancer: 10 of Swords

Leo Season Tarotscopes Cancer

It’s time to try something new. However you’ve been talking to yourself and/or letting the brain run the show isn’t working anymore. This card can feel like the end of the road for certain ways of thinking. It’s not easy, you may feel mentally exhausted or hurt. The visuals of the card are meant to represent how it feels in your mind (not an actual death) to be stuck in a framework of thinking that doesn’t serve you. When thinking and speaking to ourselves in harsh and judgemental ways becomes an unchecked habit, it can feel like we’re stabbing ourselves in the back. But there’s also a lot of hope and potential in this card. A bright sun pierces through the horizon and the black sky. It’s a new day. It’s time for the brain’s narrative to adopt a supportive and caring tone. It’s time to release the past hurt you’ve held onto and internalized. Energetically send that sh*t back to wherever you got it (it didn’t come from you!). It takes time and practice, but it’s better than the alternative.

Leo: Queen of Swords

Leo Season Tarotscopes Leo

Don’t be afraid of being clear about what you do and don’t want. This queen wants you to embody your boundaries. Use your sharp mind and keen intuition to find the clarity you need to set up a container that helps you care for yourself. Say no to everything that is not a hell yes. Call upon your discerning inner editrix to explore what your values are and use those as guidelines to cut the things from your life that don’t align. We can feel uncomfortable with putting boundaries in place because we think they make us harsh or difficult, but it’s really just about taking care of yourself. Boundaries are a form of re-parenting yourself — setting up structures to help you thrive (a lot of them don’t even involve other people!). Your solar return is the perfect time to do an audit of your life. Set the ego aside to sort through what is truly right for you and what doesn’t make the cut. Call on this queen for strength when you need to.

Virgo: Knight of Cups

Leo Season Tarotscopes Virgo

How can you move a little more gently? This knight is inviting you to tap into your sense of ease and grace. You have the potential to leave every room you enter a little better just by your presence. Call on your softer side. This isn’t about giving in or being a doormat, but rather trying a new approach. Rather than forcing, hustling, or striving, can you go a little slower? It starts with being kind to yourself and easing up on the judgements. Not to get all “peace and love” on you, but if you can get more centered and in line with your core self (your spirit, authentic self, soul), you might find that what naturally radiates from you is a warm and calming presence. Those around you will feel the shift too, even if they can’t exactly put their finger on it.

Libra: 3 of Pentacles

Leo Season Tarotscopes Libra

It’s time for a purpose check-in. Take some time to reflect this month on each area of your life (purpose isn’t just career-related, ya know). Do you feel aligned in your day-to-day? Do you feel like you’re getting a chance to let your unique talents shine? If not, what needs to be shifted? We’re striving for flow and balance. We won’t get it right every day, but we want to find some feeling of equilibrium within us. We want to like what we do and the way we do it. We want to be living our values and embodying our beliefs in the big picture AND everyday stuff. It might be a time to make a plan or integrate some changes to shift toward a job, home, relationship, or routine that feels aligned for you. Self-worth comes from recognizing our values and living them out in real ways — start by defining yours and go from there.

Scorpio: 3 of Wands

Leo Season Tarotscopes Scorpio

You’re in the in-between time right now. You’ve achieved a lot, and now you’re deciding which direction to go next. You have things you want to share and a long list of what you still want to learn. It’s a liminal space of reflection and looking to the future. Trust your timing here. It’s easy to try to rush things and create urgency around “figuring it out” — especially in the action taking and movement loving wands suit. The next right step to take is to do the thing that lights you up the most. From there, you’ll find your path and momentum.

Sagittarius: Page of Pentacles

Leo Season Tarotscopes Sagittarius

You might be feeling pulled to question the purpose of your time on this planet. This is the card of the seeker. Eager to learn more, explore, and find a new perspective, the Page of Pentacles wants us to review the path we’ve been on and question what to do next based on what feels right in our core. Be willing to adopt a beginner’s mind (and perhaps drop the jaded assumptions that come from being on this planet too long) and approach your sense of place and purpose with wonder, curiosity, and inner wisdom. If that seems like a big ask, start with grounding yourself in your body — get outside, really appreciate your food as you eat it, sit on the ground, and wear clothing that makes you feel good in your body.

Capricorn: The Empress

Leo Season Tarotscopes Capricorn

Are you spending a little too much time in your head or feeling overly critical of yourself. The Empress is calling on you to make pleasure a daily practice. This is a card of abundance, but not in the sense of simply getting and having a lot of stuff and money. It’s about *embodying* abundance, which really means experiencing all the good things you have in the present moment.

The Empress wants you to see, feel, hear, smell, and taste — all the good things about being a human on Earth — fully. Get out into nature if you can, feel your feet on the ground, smell the fresh air. Eat something that’s in-season. Listen to the birds and the wind. Make your work day, breaks, and transition into the evening sensory experiences. Eat slowly and enjoy your food. Dress yourself in clothes that feel good on your skin. Light candles, make a playlist, tidy your space. Move slower in everything you do. Make space to breathe.

Aquarius: 6 of Cups

Leo Season Tarotscopes Aquarius

Your Aquarius sun/moon/rising opposes Leo in the sky, so use this season as a prompt to look to your counterpart for guidance. Leo swagger may not be your natural inclination, but there’s a lot to be gleaned from this shining sign. The biggest takeaway for you this season: Express yourself. Leo energy is creative, heart centered, and loves to give and receive attention. There’s something on your heart that wants to be put out into the world. You’re being asked to open up to that child-like part of yourself that wants to be seen — not in an egoic way, but one that wants acknowledgement and connection. There’s a desire for shared joy and wanting to open up to others — how can you find little ways to do this in your daily life?

Pisces: 8 of Wands

Leo Season Tarotscopes Pisces

Trust your timing. Things might feel stalled and uncertain. There’s a real sense of many things being up in the air (which is literally what this card depicts) and you might not be sure where you’re going to land right now. And that’s ok. It’s not about getting the who/when/where answers right now, but rather learning to be ok amidst this unknown timing and space. Focus on doing things to strengthen your nervous system like breathwork, salt baths, spending time in nature, and eating nourishing foods. You’ll find solid ground and answers eventually, but this season is asking you to take care of yourself in the in-between.
